Help Relaunch Justice for Immigrants in Eastern NC
At the North Carolina Immigration Law & Justice Center (NCILJC), we believe in a welcoming and just community for all. As the only organization of our kind in eastern North Carolina, we provide affordable, high-quality legal services to our immigrant neighbors.
Since 2020, we have served hundreds of families, providing expert legal counsel on matters from DACA and citizenship to humanitarian protection for victims of violence and trafficking.
A Critical Moment
In June 2025, due to a funding shortfall, we made the difficult decision to suspend operations to ensure our existing clients received continuity of care. Our mission is too important to abandon. We are now actively working to rebuild and relaunch, and we need your help.
How You Can Help
We are seeking passionate individuals to help restore our vital services. Your expertise and energy will have an immediate and substantial impact.
1. Become a Board Member
Join our dedicated, all-volunteer board and help lead our relaunch. We have an urgent need for leaders with experience in:
Governance & Finance (Urgent Need: Board Treasurer)
Fundraising & Development
Strategic Planning
Community Outreach
Commitment includes one monthly meeting and is typically less than 5 hours per week.
2. Become a Volunteer
If board service isn't the right fit, your skills are still crucial. We are building a team to support our relaunch efforts, with a critical need for volunteers to:
Join our Fundraising Committee
Assist with event planning, grant research, or communications
Volunteer commitments are flexible and tailored to your availability.
Why It Matters
Without NCILJC, a significant justice gap persists in eastern North Carolina. Immigrant families seeking stability and safety are left without affordable, trustworthy legal guidance.

Donate
We need your help to keep our clinic running. Your donations help us pay staff and legal fees. As we are a 501(c)3 organization, your contributions are tax-deductible as charitable donations. Donate today!
Volunteer
We also need some practical help in our clinic operations. We need help to translate, provide childcare, or help with intake for clients, as well as to host events and assist with fundraising. Sign up today!
Spread the Word
We would love help with getting information about the ILJC out into the community. We are happy to work with you to post information in your community organization, church, or business. We can also help host events to talk with people about the clinic and about the needs immigrants have in the U.S. immigration system.
